How a passion for style and an obsession with technology came together to create a color analysis tool you can truly trust.
The Beginning: An Idea Born from Passion
Hi 👋 we're Juan and Maria.
As we mentioned on our homepage, this adventure began thanks to Maria's passion for the world of makeup and style. She introduced me to the concept of color analysis, and we immediately saw its potential. But we also hit a wall: getting a professional analysis was a luxury service—expensive and out of reach for most people.
As a programmer, my mind started racing. With the advancements in AI, shouldn't there be a way to make this accessible to everyone? And so, the first draft of this website was born.
The First Hurdle: The Generic AI Trap
My first instinct was to try the obvious. Nowadays, anyone can upload a photo to an AI like ChatGPT and ask for a color analysis. We tried it, but the results were not what we expected at all.
We realized that a generic AI, no matter how powerful, is not a color analysis expert. Its analyses were:
- Inconsistent: The same face, with a slight change in lighting, would yield completely different results.
- Superficial: It often just described hair or eye color, failing to understand the crucial nuances of skin undertone.
- Lacking the 'Why': It would give a result but couldn't explain the reasoning behind it or offer useful, personalized guidance.
We understood that a real solution couldn't be just a simple connection to an AI. We had to build our own service, with its own intelligence, trained by and for color analysis.
Our Solution: An Engine with an Expert's Eye
This is where the real work began. We had one obsession: reliability. We didn't want to just 'automate'; we wanted to capture the knowledge of an expert consultant in a precise system. Our process was built on three pillars:
A Specialized Model
We built an algorithm from the ground up, focused solely on analyzing the facial attributes that determine a color palette: skin tone and undertone, eye and hair color, and contrast level, among others.
Supervised Training by Maria
The AI learned from hundreds of real case studies. Maria was the 'teacher' who guided the algorithm, validating each diagnosis, correcting its mistakes, and teaching it to identify patterns and common errors.
Calibration and Benchmarking
To ensure maximum accuracy, we didn't just rely on our own judgment. We benchmarked against color analyses of public figures, already studied and agreed upon by top world experts. Additionally, we gathered feedback from our first customers to continuously improve the algorithm. Now, we can confidently say that the results achieve a professional level of precision.
